Is "Foot-In-Mouth" a Sexually Transmitted Disease?

Perhaps the most disturbing thing about Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin is that he's already been a Representative in Congress since 2001. If he's so pig-ignorant about sex that he thinks a woman who's been raped can't get pregnant from it, one shudders to think what basis he's been using to decide on other legislation. Perhaps he's voted against the Space Program because the Earth is flat? Would he oppose dental care help for the poor because the Tooth Fairy will provide?

The Constitution provides that there shall be no religious test for public office, but I'm thinking that we should require candidates to take and make public the results of a basic test of general knowledge. I think I'd almost rather see that than tax returns--.
